Pediatric Speech Therapy & Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy for Children

Every child deserves a strong foundation for clear communication, healthy breathing, and comfortable eating. As a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in pediatric care, I look at the big picture of how your child’s speech, breathing, swallowing, and oral rest postures work together. By identifying the root causes of daily challenges—like mouth breathing, speech sound difficulties, or structural impacts from oral habits—we can create an individualized therapy plan that supports their growth and long-term well-being.

Signs and Symptoms of an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder in a Child:

  • Does your child have crooked and/or crowded teeth?

  • Is your child a picky-eater?

  • Does your child suck their thumb or fingers or use a pacifier regularly?

  • Does your child clench or grind their teeth?

  • Does your child mouth-breathe during the day?

  • Does your child have difficulties with falling asleep, bed-wetting, staying asleep or having nightmares?

  • Does your child have Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) pain or a limited range of motion in their jaws?

  • Does your child suffer from regular migraines or headaches?

  • Does your child have swallowing or speech difficulties (e.g. they have a lisp or can't stay their "R" sounds)?

  • Is your child experiencing any orthodontic relapse (i.e. after having their braces off, their teeth have started becoming crooked again)?

If your answer to any of these questions is "Yes", then you have come to the right place! Book in below for an evaluation today!
